    Hello,

I have recently bought a T500 laptop with a LED backlit display (WXGA). I have noticed that the backlight is not uniform (there are some verticals zones where the light is slightly dimmer).

    Did anyone experience this problem?

    Best regards,
    Cristi.

    Cristi,

Where specifically is it located on the screen?

    Drake,

    • there are several vertical lines of about 1 - 2 cm
    • from the top to the bottom of the screen
    • the lightning gradient (difference) is not very obvious; they can be observed only if the display shows the same color (for example white or blue)

    Cristi.

If one runs along the right hand side of screen, and you have vista, remove the right side vertical toolbar it "overlays" the main display and will make it look darker...at least it did on mine. Other than that I'm not sure.

I have XP, and I'm pretty sure that it's display related (not software related). For example I see this behaviour even during the windows login screen (where almost all the screen is blue).

I have a "bright spot" right in the bottom middle of the screen. I might send it in, don't know if it's worth the hassle... but it is really noticeable.
