I've been looking into why it seems my laptop has been running extremely hot. I just got in end of this past December (2007) and it barely has anything installed on it. As of right now I only play WoW on it as well as using it for normal household kind of stuff. I was thinking about trying Hackez' Driver switch to up the fps on the game, but I want to resolve this issue first. I installed Mobmeter as some posts here suggested doing. While playing WoW the temperatures were all at approximately 80 degrees C, which I thought was really high. I cleaned out the fans to make sure they were being ventilated properly as well. I also ran the PC Doctor for DOS (and the Windows one) to see if there were any problems. All the tests passed on both, but when I went into the Test Log on the DOS version there were some failed communications where it tried sending various hex values and did not receive the correct ones back. I don't have the actual Test Log in front of me since I'm at work, so I will post that later. Any ideas as to the issue? Suggestions/advice would be greatly appreciated.
