    Hi All!

    I am a new happy owner of a T61.

Today I reinstalled WinXP (Thanks to Arkit3kt).

But to save time in future reinstallations I wish to take an image of the system.

    But what program to use?

I used Northern Ghost in the past, but ThinkVantage offers both ImageUltra Builder and Rescue and Recovery.

Witch one dose the job best?

    :)

ImageUltra Builder is a 500$ program.

So now it is Ghost vs Rescue and Recovery!

I didn't know RnR could take images of your PC. Are you sure? I know Norton Ghost does though.

I would recommend either Acronis True Image or if you order the second hard drive adapter for the ultra bay slim, it used to come with very easy to use Apricorn cloning software on a floppy. Not sure if it still does or if it does whether the media is still on a floppy, but with the floppy version, you needed to have a floppy drive attached to your system so you could boot into the back up application from the floppy disc. But it worked great and was very easy to use.

But True Image has certain advantages, namely that you can make an image on a smaller hard drive than the drive you are backing up as long as the data will fit and also that you don't need to have a floppy drive.
