I would like to install Norton GoBack on Lenovo TP R 61. Wanted to know if this is compatible with the (hidden) Recovery Partition that is there on TP R61 (pl see fig. 3). I have not used the Backup & Restore program that comes with ThainkVantage suite so far. Also, I am not using any other backup program on this laptop (other than using Symantec Ghost 8.2 via DOS prompt - i.e. SG 8.2 is not installed on the computer).

Attached are the (Error) Message Screenshots that I get when trying to install GoBack on my laptop.
The 3rd image gives the current partition info. I believe the 1st part (where it says 'None' for File Type is a FAT32 partition as I have obsvd from Sym Ghost 8.2 via DOS boot) .

GoBack installation does go on after the (Error) Message screens, but have cancelled the install since it may cause an irrecoverable partition/system error.

    Thanks,

It's a hidden parition and if norton can't recogize it I would not mess with it. Or at least make a recovery DVD first. But when it comes to utility programs and backing up Norton to be avoided it is a resource hog and no better than a program that uses less resources. But if you really want to use norton make the backups dvd as I mentioned just in case.

Wwas able to install it (attached image). Though it does not protect the hidden recovery part. (Part. no. 1 in earlier pict).
I have used a previous version of GoBack earlier & it had helped for irrecoverable errors/BSOD's. That was on a desktop PC without any 'hidden' partitions.

Have also found ERunt (freeware) useful in such situations (to restore the Windows Registry).
You can d/l it from here.
