Recently I ran into a Lenovo/IBM Thinkpad T61 with windows vista and every time I connected the charger or I poped it in the docking station it stated "plugged in & not charging". Anyone know why this happens or how it can be corrected? I tried restarting and adjusting the power settings but I couldn't correct it.

Is the battery close to full? You can set charge thresholds so the system isn't constantly topping off (and frying) the battery. I think mine is set to 96% -- if the battery is not below 96%, it doesn't charge. If it drops below, it will charge all the way to 100%. You can set this in Power Manager on the last tab under the Battery Maintenance button.

Make sure all your drivers are uptodate and make sure the battery is in correctly

The battery was only at 15%, oddly enough if I turned the laptop off it charged the battery. I was recently told its probably a bios issue and that the latest update should take care of it.
