The Notebook Review forums were hosted by TechTarget, who shut down them down on January 31, 2022. This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

    Notebookcheck.com is a German site that does some of the most thorough reviews of notebooks around. It is very technical. They just reviewed the the T61p:

    Test Lenovo Thinkpad T61p Notebook

    It's all in German and in a few weeks they should put up the English version. But if you can't wait and wouldn't mind reading garbled English, here is the Google Translation version.

    hmm I've read in other parts of the forum that benchmarks from notebookcheck.com should be taken with a grain of salt. It kind of surprised me that the MBP's performance on 3dmark06 surpassed that of the t61p, since the fx 570m is supposed to be a better performer than the 8600 gt in the MBP

    I was curious about that too. I suspect they were using inappropriate drivers for gaming :(
