I've never had to log in with my password before, in three years of ownership. Suddenly today I get the log in screen and even my password "hint" gets me nowhere. I can't find my password but I did find all paperwork for my T61, go figure.

F8 on startup gets me nowhere. If I push the ThinkVantage blue button I get into the Rescue and Recovery area but still have not found out how to reset my password. I was trying to start in Safe Mode but since F8 doesn't work, I'm not able to do that either.

I bet I'm just one button push away from at least getting to where I can see my password or be able to reset it but as it stands I'm lost.

And, yes, I did a search here but I tried everything I could think of and all I got was "search yielded no results".

I went into the Bios, got to the menu where I could changed a multiple of passwords. Reset "Supervisor Password" (for all I know that's just to access the bios), reset "Power-on password" but that wasn't the password that got me past the log-in screen. Too bad there wasn't a "Log on to Windows XP" option, but that's a Windows option and not a bios option. Oh well.

Still haven't found out how to just get into Safe Mode.
