My T61 is running the Quadro card at 60-70 Celcius, but my desktop's GeForce 7600GT only runs at 50-60 Celcius. Is it just the lack of drivers that's making the NVS cards that much hotter?

140m is not a low end card.

You answered it right there. You should not be comparing your notebook GPU temperature with a desktop GPU temperature. The desktop is going to have better cooling than a notebook. Instead, you should be asking people if people are getting similar temperatures in their T61 with the 140m.

    yes it is
intel doesn't count, as that's not a "card"

Those temps are normal for newer dedicated graphics cards in laptops, regardless of the "quality" of said video card :p

well, I'm using the tpfancontrol to check the temps and the GPU temp is at 45C with battery maximizer on high performance and me doing simple web browsing with a/c plugged in, meaning the fan is on. When it's unplugged (CPU adaptive) and the fan is off, the GPU temp is 52C
