What drivers do you guys use for your T61's quadro nvs 140m graphics chip? Do you use the stock one provided by lenovo? Or do you use ones from www.laptopvideo2go.com? I'm trying to find a good driver set for my chip and just wanted to poll people that have had more experience with the drivers for this chip, and what their experiences were with those drivers.

Thank you for your comments, new thinkpad owner here just trying to get the best drivers to get the most out of my new machine :D

My Quadro NVS 140m runs great with the laptopvideo2go drivers - the stock Lenovo drivers are way out of date. I'm on 169.25 right now, though I'm sure there is something newer.

You can overclock the crap out of the NVS 140m, too - mine runs at 550/800 instead of the stock 400/600, which is a 25% performance boost essentially for free.

Enjoy your T61. I sure as hell do.

I use RivaTuner to overclock. I've got mine set for 600/800 for gaming (Source-based games).

RiverTune wont remember my settings :(

I go to Forceware customize, give it Enable driver level hardware overclocking, then boost up the clock speeds, then hit Test, then OK ... and when I enter the menu again it's still with the low speeds ..

what do I do wrong ?

Are any of you running the modded drivers with a 64-bit revision of Vista?
    If so, which ones?
The last time I tried modded drivers it prevented the machine from waking from Sleep and would not let me dim the screen's brightness.

Did you save the settings? Gotta click the little floppy disk and save it as a profile.

When you select that setting, click "apply." I usually just leave it open at that window to ensure that it runs at whatever setting I want it to.

^ same thing, I save it .. and nothing. I tried with apply as well, same results

I leave that monitoring function open so see how it does. Then I open a game that maxes out the video card, and still see 400/600 :(

maybe the Lenovo drivers doesn't support overclocking ?

I don't know, but if you're going to game, I suggest going to laptopvideo2go.com to download a more current driver. Your games will run better using newer drivers.

    @chubbyfatazn and @bsoft:

When you speak of 600/800 and 550/800, is the first number the core and the second the memory?

In RivaTuner, I have sliders for Core Clock, Shader Clock and Memory Clock - in that order.

(thank you in advance - i'm quite the OC noob :)
