Am about to replace my Toshiba and going back to TP after 3 years, am ready to get the T60P W/S and can't decide between 8744J2U & 8744C9U, spec-wise the 2 are identical, except the first one is loaded with Vista & the other w/ XPP (for $50 more).

As much as I want to "play" w/ Vista, there're certain apps I use that are having issues w/ Vista at the moment, so I am not too keen in spending for the TP & at the same time set aside several hundred dollars to upgrade the other software, so I would prefer to go w/ the XPP version.

Question I have is that if I were to go w/ the XPP version, is there a discounted upgrade path to Vista later or I need to buy Vista retail from scratch?

Contact Lenovo or the dealer and ask them but I don't think such things are availible now (the were availible before Vista was out)
