I'm looking for an extra laptop battery for my Lenovo t60..... and I've been looking around at OEM and non-OEM ones.

Here's my question - would you buy a non-OEM laptop battery from ebay? Do you think it'll last as long (hold its charge) as the OEM ones?

    here's a 7200mAh lenovo battery that's non-OEM. They go for about $80 shipped usually.

here's a 5200mAh OEM lenovo battery. It holds less charge than the "high-power" non-OEM ones. The OEM ones go for about $75 shipped on average.

Which one do you guys think is the better choice? Do you think the non-OEM one is going to last as long as far as holding charge? anyone have first-hand experience with these non-OEM versions?

    thanks,
    Sean

looking forward to becoming a regular poster, as this is my first laptop I just purchased and loving it so far :)

You might have already checked this but make sure the voltage is the same on that battery. I have seen batteries before that trick you because they have a higher mAh rating but a lower voltage!!

This is a problem because the amount of power in the battery is measured in watts, and watts are volts times amps, mAh is millamp-hours, it means how many hours the battery would last whilst putting out a millamp of current.

So anyways, if you had 2 batteries the same voltage but one had a higher mAh rating, that battery would last longer...BUT if you had 2 batteries where one had a slightly higher mAh rating, but lower voltage, it might not actually last as long as the other battery.

    thanks for the help!

I ended up just buying an OEM 9-Cell (7800mAh) battery to save the possible trouble...

and it was cheaper than any other battery out there! I won it on eBay for $45.45! brand new Lenovo!
