Hi all,
I'm going to need an Ultrabay SATA Adapter soon for my X200 Ultrabase, and I noticed that it costs about $60 on Lenovo's site:
http://shop.lenovo.com/SEUILibrary/...191FB0B45CBB39F45EB5B2B986E&model-number=2023
If I order it from the EPP site I could get it for about $54, but I still find this a huge rip-off since it's a simple adapter with no integrated logic (i.e. no complex chips to do any processing or interfacing).
So, I checked on ebay to see if there are any third party adapters, and I found one from Hong Kong for $14 with free shipping:
http://cgi.ebay.ca/for-IBM-43N3412-...C_Drives_Storage_Internal?hash=item519238730d
My question is: Has anybody tried these third-party adapters? And do they fit and work fine? It seems like the only thing that could go wrong is if any of the pins in the plug are shorted to each other due to bad manufacturing or quality control... Any suggestions or advice?![]()
Thanks in advance!
Faruk

We have heard of those working fine. We have also heard of them hosing your data(!) and damaging the contacts in the laptop.

I bought one of those from that vendor a few weeks ago. So far I've had no issues with it.

Bought one for my T500. No issues.

Are you lucky with electronic? If you are, buy the third party adaptor.
