    Hi Guys !
    Machine Background:
Y580 came installed with a 500GB Disk and no SSD
Installed SSD 128GB purely for windows and imp programs. NO SSD+HDD
did not touch any partitions. the HDD is purely for storage and the hidden OKR area is fine !
Tried to use OKR to create image (system backup) got error
" Current system cannot support backup"

All i want to have is a image of the sytem on SSD (windows+all installed software)
Can this also be done by "create recovery disc" if the System backup does not work at all?

Also does the create recovery disc make an image of he current system drive ?

I have a screenshot of the create recovery disc option. which option involves the creation of an image of the curent system. it has me confused. thanks

no. you were supposed to pick the system backup option. not the recovery disc option.

let me get this clear. you installed an msata ssd and clean installed win7pro on the ssd ?

if you want to create a backup image of the ssd and dump it into the hdd, you can follow the instructions in my other thread-
    http://forum.notebookreview.com/ide...hanging-partition-size-y580-maybe-others.html

if you want to keep the factory image that is already on the hdd, you'll have to use ptedit32 and copy the entire OKRBackup folder on the hidden partition to the main hdd storage area.
There are other ways, but ptedit32 is easiest for newbies

Thanks for the post there, will try to use the procedure to get a full image of the SSD onto the OKR partition.

Yes I installed the SSD independent from the HDD and installed programs and Windows 7 prof on it.(SSD 128GB).

Does this change any of the procedures u mentioned in the link posted?

no. just follow the 2-drive option directions, and that will backup the OS to the hdd.
i tested it when i installed an msata ssd on mine.
