just a comment, but it's kinda stupid for lenovo to not ship the CD to your OS. I understand that you can burn a copy using the thinkvantage button, but why can't they just ship the CD to you. At first i didn't realize you can burn a copy from the preload, so i called to inquire about the CD. the first agent said that tech support would send one out. Indeed they would for 40 dollars. My father just bought a dell D830, and it comes with the OS. this maybe just a rant, but if you paid for it, they should ship you the CD even if you can burn it yourself. It would cost them 3 cents at most. what the hell, but i love my new laptop anyways.

i hate most manufacturers don't ship cds anymore, there are quite a few , who still ship. By the way, the cd that you are gonna burn from the preload, is NOT the os cd. it's just the image of the hard drive that will recover your laptop to factory state with all that bloatware crap in it.

oh.. thanks for the heads up.. i didn't realize it. I take it that the recovery would exclude any applications you install such as MSOffice, while system restore from windows would include application that you install yourself. Is that correct? btw, i love this keyboard. i got the samsung screen, which isn't as bad as people say it is.. it's average, but not bad...

I got no problem with having to burn off the CDs if it helps keep the cost down. I wish they would let you burn off a OEM cd. Very few notebook makers give an OEM CD anymore.
