Discount Programs
1. Education Purchase Program (5%![]()
If your school isn't listed, you can select the generic "Students & Alumni" section in the drop down box. You'd better be a student or alumni though.
2. IBM Shareholder Purchase Program (5%)
3. FatWallet Cash Back (% varies)
FatWallet account required and signup is free. To take advantage of the Cash Back offer, click the “Cash Back Available” link in the top right hand box. A Cash Back tracker will appear to confirm the time you activated FatWallet. Proceed as normal in Lenovo’s site to purchase the laptop. Make sure to not leave Lenovo’s server at any time or enter a new URL in your browser. If necessary, use Lenovo’s search function to link you to the SPP or EPP website. After purchase, FatWallet will notify in the next few business days of your pending cash back. FatWallet Cash Back will only stay intact if your configuration is unchanged. FatWallet is awarded based on the day of order in 6-8 weeks.
4. Visa Perks (United States) (Canada) (5%)
Visa Perks is not stackable with Lenovo SPP, EPP, or Education discount programs.

you did it again , great job i think if you add all of these threads together under Lenovo Thinkpad FAQ we may have a chance of having a new sticky here
-
It IS there. In link form.
-
Bump for an awesome post. reggie look here.
-
Just a FYI, visa deal is not canadian only. You go to visa site > personal > get discounts > pick lenovo. All it seems to do is go to the SPP page but put visa logo at the top.
-
Thanks for the tip.

Good job johnny, but you probably should change the 6-8 weeks sentence because it's worded strangely. Probably something like:
Fatwallet is awarded 6-8 weeks after day of order. -
OMFG I was double and triple checking my selections and finalizing my decision right...it was like 8:30 then. The coupon worked fine. Took 10% off my T61p:

Gosh and the coupon is said to be expired by midnight pacific time, according to techbargains.com. What a bull****ty **** ****. Hopefully, there will be a 15% OR 20% coupon coming out pretty soon maybe this week or next week???
keeping my fingures crossed -
Lenovo operates on eastern time.
-
But the freaken coupon on TechBargains says that it expires 11:59 pm western time.

Is there anybody know the 10% coupon that can combine with EPP progam, Many thanks
-
Updated .
-
Can you stack the AMEX Tailormade program with the EPP discount or the current 10% coupon?
-
You can stack AMEX Tailormade with everything.
-
I was wondering...there is no difference if I were to stack the 10% off coupon with either the EPP or SPP right? Since they are both 5% off anyways. Are there any other benefits if I were to stack the 105 off coupon with one or the other Purchase Programs?? I just want to get the best deal for my T61p. =]
-
ahh crap I just saw that last part of your coupon listing. It says it's not stackable =[ Was the previous 10% off coupon stackable (USPJULYT72) with EPP or SPP ??
-
-
So I should just wait for another 10% off coupon that is stackable? I really need a good deal for my laptop, which I will need for college by August 27th.
-
I think you forgot Employee Purchase Program and Contractor Purchase Program. Of course, if a person is an employee or a contractor, they would probably know about those programs already.
And it may be more expensive to order with the education discount because you cannot stack the 10% coupon on it. So it is actually 5% cheaper to order regularly with the 10% coupon, since the current coupon isn't stackable. -
-
So I can use the Education 5% discount, Fatwallet ~3.5% discount and the AMEX Tailormade program (5, 7, or 10%) all together?
-
Yup, though you should use that 10% coupon instead of the Education discount.
-
I know this may be kind of off topic but before I ask, I just wanted to say Thanks for the great post and the 10% coupon. I have the following configured, will I be able to do any sort of gaming and how well will it be with most office functions, including things like photoshop and webdesign?
Intel® Core 2 Duo T7500 (2.2GHz 800MHz 4MBL2)[1]
Genuine Windows Vista Business[12]
14.1 WXGA+ TFT, w/ Camera
NVIDIA Quadro NVS 140M (128MB)
2 GB PC2-5300 DDR2 SDRAM 667MHz SODIMM Memory (2 DIMM)
UltraNav (TrackPoint and TouchPad) with Fingerprint Reader
100GB Hard Disk Drive, 7200rpm[4]
CD-RW/DVD-ROM Combo 24X/24X/24X/8X Max, Ultrabay Slim[5]
Intel Wireless WiFi Link 4965AGN[10]
6 cell Li-Ion Battery[60]
Bluetooth Integrated Bluetooth PAN
41C9170 3 year depot 9x5 Next Business Day
40Y9220 1 Year Computrace LoJack
All for a really good deal, much cheaper than my M1330 and it has better specs, as far as the HDD and CPU go at least. -
wearetheborg Notebook Virtuoso
So you're gonna sell the m1330 ?
-
Nope, don't have it yet...been waiting since July 9th and I hear it may be til late August...
-
Ya that should work fine with photoshop and web designing. Not sure about gaming though. You should get the 7 cell battery though I think. It's just a little bit more expensive and it's the same size. I also hate buying expensive warranty's...chances are you won't need it but that's just a personal preference.
-
wearetheborg Notebook Virtuoso
-
Considering canceling it. The only thing, I put that system in my cart and it showed a ship date of 9/6!!!!!
-
Just out of curiosity, can you stack Visa Perks, the 10% off coupon, and the FatWallet discount?
That would probably seal the deal for me. -
Not sure if you can stack Visa Perks and FatWallet since you'll be redirected to the Lenova site through either VP or FW, but not both.
Maybe you can jiggle with the URL and all that, which might just invalidate one or the other. -
Hey is the current coupon USPTR61721 stackable with the American Express Tailormade program? So it'll be like -10% -10%
-
Wonder if it's possible to get an AmEx number and use it today so I don't miss out on the 10% coupon expiring July 27th. -
-
Best combination possible appears to be 10% + AmEx TailorMade + FatWallet. -
yay I think I am going to buy it with 10% + AmEx then. Thanks a lot Playmaker and everyone else! I'm kinda iffy about FatWallet...it seems kinda iffy and suspicious to me. Plus, it's % seems pretty low....o wells
-
Wait one more question srry ahha. With AmEx say I go for the 10% off for my T61p...does it show in the cart the price with the -10% coupon and -10% AmEx discount? Or does it only show -10% coupon in cart and then later AmEx just gives you back 10% in credit or some other form? How does AmEx work exactly?
-
I think if you read the guide, you will find out how AMEX Tailormade works.
-
lets just hope it works 8D
-
ok i just ordered today and estimated ship date is August 28
I'm leaving for school August 27th! Is there any chance that it will ship before then? If not, can I change the shipping location?

How does the price protection guarantee effect fatwallet/tailormade? I got mine down $232 but my credit has already been awarded. Nothing should happen if simply lenovo adds $232 to my account, correct?
-
After slightly reconfiguring a baseline T61 14.1" the price comes out to $756 w/ the 10% off coupon. FatWallet cash back brings down the final price to about $730, which I think is a good deal for a Lenovo.
However, it would be so awesome if I could combine the 10% off coupon w/ EPP/SPP like the last 10% off coupon (that expired 5 days ago). My question to you is: Should I wait and see if a 10% stackable coupon comes out in the following weeks (w/ the risk of component prices rising / current default $350 discount being reduced) or pull the trigger today before the coupon expires?
I'm heading off to school on the 26th. I won't mind not getting the laptop until early September though. -
With that in mind, I intend holding off on ordering mine till early August...when of course, prices will probably be 52.25% higher than they are now.
Does anyone know how to read tea-leaves? -
My gut feeling tells me that we'll see better deals in early August because of the back-to-school craze. But we'll probably also see an increase in order volume. Add to that the fact that better deals may *not* come out in August, and you've got me biting my fingernails all day. I remember missing out on the Memorial Day sale... waited for 4th of July sale which was quite pathetic. -
Who cares if the prices drop? You get 21 days of price protection.
-
With ThinkPad prices this low, why does Lenovo even have a consumer line?
