Tuned with Rivatuner,

why do you use the 174.31 drivers, is there any place to find a comparison to help me to choose the best drivers for my card. so far it plays diablo 2 very smoothly with the stock driver
-
could you post a guide to your settings you used to tune it with rivatuner?
-
How far did you overclock? I set mine to 500 MHz core and 750 MHz memory without any problems. I haven't installed 3dmark06 to score it yet, though.
-
I'd rather not due to the known dangers that can happen.
I feel safe about doing it but I wouldn't want somebody to brake their machine.
The stock score of almost 2000 is good though. -
All the way. No problems. -
174.31 drivers work well with the R61. Lenovo even cared enough to support it.
http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/document.do?lndocid=MIGR-67924#changes
With my T61p I never had any problems playing games with it. Played everything I tried.
On the other hand I installed 175.16 on my T61p and benchmarked well but doesn't seem to play games as good as the 174.31 drivers. I am probably going to go back to 174.31 for my T61p. -
ok, i will try them out, would be you kind enough to share your drivers on this forum and a quick guide. i know i am asking a lot.
-
2400 (how can i get me a link?)
I have a T8300, but does that rly have such an impact?
A guide would rly be nice.
How far can u go clockwise? Everything over 800/1100 just crashes... -
A link to what?
With RivaTuner the core clock doesn't go beyond 615 with the 174.31 driver.
T9300 bumps up the score quite a bit. -
A link to score like u posted em.
Go to powerusers > Overclocking Global > enter Min/Max clocks
2539 with 702/908
Does Atitool work for u? The good thing about that tool is that it finds ur max clocks by itself. In Rivatuner i can only move in certain mhz intervals... -
I havn't tried ATI Tool.
I'll try the Rivatuner poweruser setting over the weekend to see what kind of score the R61 gets with your speeds. -
You have to register and be logged in when viewing your score and it will add it to your list. You can keep about 5 scores online. Each score profile has settings and information that you can add about the score. -
2700
702/922 -
That is the highest score I have seen for this GPU.
Amazing that you did so well with the T8300 too.
I will adjust to your settings to see what I get. Expect a score soon. -
2651 @ 702/922 w/ T7500
what kind of temps are you guys hitting? -
CPU 37, GPU 67 max at gfx tests.
CPU 41, GPU 61 at cpu tests. -
when i do the stress tests together (both CPU & GPU) and I get
88 CPU
77 GPU
what have you done to get yours so low?
I used arctic silver 5 and gave the heat pipe a slight bend to put more pressure on GPU
thanks -
Well, thats what i get from 1 3dmark 06. With Orthos i get 49 C on the CPU after 1 hour of stressing.
The GPU would propably go up a bit too after a while. -
I matched your timing speeds and the R61 scored a little over 2800.
I'm doing one more test and I'll post the a link to score soon. -
Decent score for now is 2932.
I checked out the specs of the NVS 140m the R61 using RivaTuner and it is a 64bit G86 (A2, 16sp) with 128mb of DDR3 RAM.
I'm very impressed with this score. Compared to the T61p's 128bit interface and 256mb of DDR3 RAM it's very impressive.
Considering it has a much smaller memory interface and half the RAM it's very impressive.
Still not the best GPU for gaming on mid to high settings.
For low resoultion and settings I'm sure it does fine.
Still running the 174.31 drivers on the R61 as well.
I don't think I will do any more test on the R61.
This is as close to max as I think it will go without some serious cooling being done or OC the CPU which I'm sure I will not do. -
Doesnt the T61P stock at 3000? LoL very nice indeed.
And im rly hoping thats the better CPU thats making the difference, otherwise id rly be pissed^^.
I have yet to find a GPU OC programme that lets me overclock in 1 MHZ steps.
How would one overclock the CPU? Is that possible? -
T61p stock hit more than 4000. Mine reachs 4379 without any tweak.
-
What driver? Nonetheless, from under 2000 to nearly 3000 at no cost at all is quite cool.

T61 with Quadro NVS 140m @ 730/1066 MHz.

Pascal_TTH
what have you done to your t61 to get it to handle that clock rate (730/1066)?
I gave the heat pipe a slight bend to increase pressure and put in arctic silver 5 but cannot run those speeds at a safe temp
Thanks -

Keep in mind the lower resolution settings on which are forced because of the 14." displays.
If the resolution were the same as the 15.4" display on the T61p the score would more than likely be lower for 3DMArk06.
When looking at 3DMark06 scores keep an eye at the resolution settings. The R61 does great when compared to an XPS M1330 because of simliliar resolution settings. In general the results from my R61 are great compared to other scores that have been published for notebooks in 13-14" display range.
CPU can be overclocked. I don't know how to do it. I'm sure I could figure it out but I think as it stands my benchmark score is enough. I don't want to burn up my mother board. -
-
You can still do a better score with two identical memory stick for the chipset works in dual channel. If you have a pair au CL4 memory, you still can grab a few points.
I try for two hours to top your score, but my T61 with T7300 doesn't have enough power.
Key for best scores in 3D Mark 2006 (or any benchmark) :
- 45 nm CPU Core 2 Duo /w 6MB cache
- 2 sticks of DDR2-667 CL4 from G.Skill
- Windows XP /w DirectX update
- 3D Mark 2006 set to Real Time proprity
- any background software -
Hey guys,
I only managed to get a lousy 2449 =), it was 2766 at 1280x800 but I can't submit from illegal 3dmark06 =)
but I'm searching for an ideal (stable in all cases) setting for some gaming and CAD work.
Do you think it might need a little tuning?
or perhaps it is already at the state in which it will go unstable after half an hour (I've only tested it in 3dmark06 and some older games for a while) -
What drivers are you running?
Your speed could be very stable depending upon what driver you have. -
It was something like Forceware 170.69 for Lenovo
I can't check right now because I actually managed to damage the card in Lenovo T61 Laptop. It wasn't exactly toasted but advanced 3d display was freezing after 10 seconds. I'm getting the motherboard replaced (on warranty) and tommorrow I should get it back.
The games seemed stable - I played Helldorado (Desperados 3) sometimes for more than 3 hours. Gears of War run ok but I didn't test it for more than 15 minutes.
I was running it on 650/975 a bit, and 600/900 after first sign off trouble. The latter gave me something like 2300 3dmarks06 but I don't know if it is worth it now -
my T61 scored 2294 with all my stuff running, and this is not only for benchmard, this is how I run the system
140M overclocked at 648/900 core/memory, or at least what shows on the temp window. The setting is maxxed out at 600/900 .. but goes a little over I guess
EDIT:
I'm currently running it at 650/950 and it scores 2423.. and as I said before, that's not only for benchmark, that's how I run the system all the time
