I'm going to buy a T61 (or t61p) this week, and after reading miles of posts a new doubt has taken my mind.

    SHould I buy a T61p or a T61 14"?
I don't like too much the 15" screens and i'm not a gamer, but the T61p screen resoultion is better than the 14".

My budget is 1600$ at maximun, and if I buy the T61p, I could't buy the T9500 processor.

    Can u help me decidin?

    Thanx

By the way, I use photoshop everyday and everything that comes with the advertising area. Also videos.

There have been some issues with the WSXGA+ screens so I think it's best to wait for the new ThinkPads coming June.

If you are not a gamer, the best buy is the T61 14". The screens aren't the best but certainly usable. If you're not in a hurry, wait for the new models and see. Expect the new models to cost substantially more thought.

...and yes, do get a T9xxx CPU if possible.

If you're not a gamer, then why get the P model when the build and screens are the same on the regular models? It costs less too.

I think that a good screen will help in the photoshop use. It's not for the size of the screen that I'm considering a 15", it's for its resolution (WUXGA+ its better than WXGA+..i Think).

And about the new thinkpads...When is the release? There'll be a new think T series? and...the T61 would be cheaper by then?

    thanx again

word is new thinkpads in june. Will a t61 be cheaper then, no one really knows for sure. What we do know is that current t series are lower now than last year, although maybe not quite as low as last month. Its a safe bet that new models will be higher priced, but the big question is how much. My guess is ~25% though. If the screen is your main reason for buying, you might want to wait for more information on the t400 and t500 because there may be a new led screen.
