Quick Overview:
As my first Lenovo laptop, I have to say that this bad boy is built like a tank, a tad heavier, but it gives me that 'feeling of security' so I can put my mitts all over it without any hesitation. Yeah, it's loaded with junk - 87 processes when I turned it on. Definately a clean insta..
The battery came at 60% charged so that was helpful.
Upgrade Ya!:
The RAM install was a bit too easy.
Upgrade Blues:
It came with Windows Vista Ultimate 32-bit and I'm moving up to 64-bit. The clean install is a lot of damn work. Downloading all of those drivers is time consuming. Installing VISTA took less time.
Now its' time to install some apps.
More to come.

Update:
Most of the driver's are installing fine except for the Bluetooth. I followed the guide and installed the Lenovo Connections Software but I cannot get it to install. When I hit the F5 plus Fn, nothing happens. I also noticed that I don't get any on screen prompts from the various Fn+key combinations, but the others work (sleep, brightness, and lock).
Any ideas? -
Check to make sure that you have the Lenovo System Interface Driver installed..
This is why I install the Thinkvantage System Update software, that some people choose to leave out of a clean install. It provides an easy way to check through which software tools you might need to add to get some of the functionality of the factory install. -
I'll try that. I did notice that when I go to the Device Manager I don't see anything with an exclamation next to it. I wonder if they even installed it.
Frak! -
The Fire Snake Notebook Virtuoso
How do you like the screen and the resolution?
-
I what people mean when they say the screen looks grainy. The resolution is great.
Anyone know where and what to look for when I crack the bad boy open to see if there is a Bluetooth module?
Thanks. -
Why do you want to crack it open just to look for a bluetooth module? Just turn it on.

Ha! Yeah, I have no idea what the frak I was talking about. Let me try again. what I was trying to say before my fingers though a coup was that I can related to others that have posted in regard to the screen being grainy. From laptop to laptop its not that bad unless you're coming from a super-liqui-uber gloss monitor. I've had Tablet PC's in the past so the screen is always a bit marred by low screen resolution and hella fingerprints on the digitizer.
No success on the Bluetooth issue.
