Hi, Recently my t61 nivda xp has started a very strange problem. The on screen display, which has always functioned properly before, now doesn't. When I adjust the sound volume, or brightness, what appears is a very very very small green dot about the size of a pinhead where the display used to be located.
So far, I have checked and unchecked the OSD control panel located inside advanced settings. Unchecking removes the small pinhead green dot. Also, I have removed and reinstalled the Hotkey drivers with no change. One point of interest is that on the OSD control panel, there are 4 options, Font, Size, Fadeout, and color. Whenever I check the box, the size option always disappears and goes blank. I suspect this may be the problem, but really have no clue.
Also note, This t61 was originally supplied with Vista and I am running a dual boot configuration. When I boot back into Vista, the OSD functions fine.
Any help would be appreciated.

sound like the wrong version of the driver for the other OS. Go to the update site and manually download the correct version, uninstall and install.

Thanks, good thought, but that doesn't do it. I'm using Hotkey Driver 2.10.0002. It has been working for several weeks with no trouble. But no longer. I really think it has something to with the size box on the control panel, but I'm just not smart enough to figure it out.
Any other help would be great... Thanks. -
Did you try an older version of the driver yet?
Maybe a registry edit will help?
