Recently got a W540 and I'm trying to work out a couple issues with the new clickpad (+trackpoint) that are seriously crippling its utility for me.

When you're holding down a keyboard key, physical clicks on the clickpad are ignored. Can this be changed? Someone said if you turned down the palm rejection slider it would take care of this, but it didn't have any effect.

Additionally, has anyone found a way to hit multiple mouse buttons at once? As in, you're holding down one button and want to click the other one while continuing to hold the first. Any way to do this?

    Yes:
    - If you are using Windows 8.1, go into the PC Settings (the Metro part). There under "PC and Devices/Mouse and TouchPad", set the TouchPad option to "No delay"
    - Open the registry. There, go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE/Synaptics/SynTP/Defaults. Set all values that begin with "PalmKMS..." to 0.

    That should solve this problem.

Thanks. That works as expected now. Would you also happen to know if there's a way to perform a middle click drag with the trackpoint? tpmiddle gets the button to work as middle click, but the cursor becomes immobilized.

Well on the T440s it's sufficient to perform a three-finger-click. It performs as middle-click if activated in the synaptics-driver.
Maybe that's not good for trackpoint users, but I feel comfortable with it as I don't use the trackpoint. But You can scroll with the stick after the click.
