Just got a new t61p 14" w/ the Nvidia Q fx 570m. 3gb ram t7500 etc.
I am curious if I should install Vista x64. Does 64bit vista play games better? Does it use more/less/equal battery life as x86?
I plan on retro fitting the 570m with the 8600 gt drivers but I am thinking this might be harder on the x64 platform..
Any comments are welcome.

Vista 64 is bleeding edge. Very few applications are written to take advantage of it. Many are not and some won't even run (or run poorly.)
If you have apps/games which are specifically written to take advantage of V64 go for it. If not, you'll want to dual boot and use it only when necessary. -
Personally, I don't believe 64bit Vista is worth it. If you don't have software that takes advantage of it, it just ends up running non-64bit programs in 32bit mode.
As for drivers, I'm pretty sure you know where to look. Laptopvideo2go
Do you mind sharing your thoughts on this lappy and it's performance? I believe you're one of the first few to receive their 14" T61p. Pictures would be nice too. ^^ -
Let me rephrase just got, as just ordered, sorry about this confusion. Lenovo told me that this model is not nearly as back ordered as the rest of their inventory so as soon as i receive it I will post a review.

Vista x64 is the future, but unless you're using more than 3GB of RAM you probably can let it stay in the future for right now while feeling reasonably good that your machine ought to support it when you get there since they were selling T61p with Business x64 pre-installed.
Unless you're a hardcore geek, of course, and like to wrestle with new OS issues for funsies. -

does anybody know how to dual boot, someone mentioned it somewhere

Otherwise PM me. -
If you have Vista Ultimate, the 64-bit version is a free upgrade, right? So if you get Ultimate, you can upgrade/downgrade as necessary to try it out.

On the t61p, 570m, and 64bit computing.
