I just bought a T400 with Vista Business (32-bit). I configured it to go hibernate when the lid is closed. However, I see a situation different from what I experience with my T500 Windows XP.
For the T400/Vista, the screen turns directly black, no messages, just light indicators flashing during the hibernation process
For my T500/XP, when the lid is closed, the screen turns blue with the message "preparing hibernate" and then black with the message "hibernating...".
Anything wrong with my T400? Or just normal vista hibernate.
This is my first vista on a Thinkpad. Hope to get your input.
Thanks!

No, that is the nature of vista hibernate. My dell does it and so does my t400 when I hibernate.

No it's just like that. My Vaio says preparing cause it's xp and my t400 light blinks cause it's on vista.

Thank you both so much for the info. I feel better now
Have a wonderful day! -
You too.
