    Afternoon folks

I just re-installed windows XP (Vista was bugging me - personal choice)

I only have one unidentified piece of hardware left:

    Location: on Intel(R) ICH8M LPC Interface Controller - 2811

I think that means it's a hard disk thing??? anyone have any thoughts?

for the record, I am running in AHCI (is that right) mode
I have installed the Matrix software 7.5 thingy

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Do you have turbo Memory? That'd probably be it.

I think I know what you're talking about. When I reinstalled XP, I had one unknown device driver. I later figured out that you needed to install Client Security Solution to fix it.

I can't remember what it's called, I think something atmpl or something similiar, just download the thinkvantage system update, and install it.

If you want to install it yourself, remember there is a windows update need to install individually, as if not your computer won't be able to shut down. So install system update is recommanded.

It looks like the hard drive controller. Run the Thinkvantage update software and it should take care of it.

No turbo memory, ran system update - I think I skipped the TPM module though (was a big file)

I'll try that and see if it works.

    Thanks for the replies guys
