I am seeing this message in System Information:
Installed Memory (RAM): 8.00 GB (7.89 GB usable)

OS is 64-bit Windows 7 Ultimate.
Does anyone know why I can't use all my RAM?
Thanks in advance for your input!

I would take a shot in the dark that ~100MB is reserved for the Intel IGP. But still, that's only 1/64th of your total installed RAM... relax

Good idea
Yeah, I'm not really concerned, but I tried searching online and didn't turn up anything particularly informative.
Thanks! -
No worries... assuming that's what it is, be thankful you don't have a new MacBook Pro. The latter takes away 384MB for it, even when based on the exact same 2720QM CPU.

It's reserved for the IGP when you're on integrated or Optimus.

Just kidding, as stated it's reserved for the Intel IGP. -

Only 7.89 out of 8 GB usable on W520?
