I have a problem with booting up my system. When I press ON/OFF button, the system starts to boot up, screen stays blank for couple of seconds and then the white screen with Lenovo, Intel and Phoenix name is displayed. As the screen stays white, I can't press any buttons, even the Lenovo Care. For half a second I can see in the bottom of the screen the text "press Lenovo care to access system rescue and recovery" (I remember something like this was displayed when my system was ok) but as the text disappears as quickly as it appeared, theres no reaction to the pressing of Lenovo Care button.
I can't even access bios anymore. I have tried allmost all Fx-Fxx combinations and nothing works.
I had installed all the lenovo and vista updates few days before my notebook started giving me problems. I remember that I also updated bios, but this was at least a week before the problems started.
It's also strange that I don't even get any error messages or beeps. It seems like the bios is corrupted. Also the bootable cd won't boot up the notebook.
The Lenovo N100 0768-FSG is under month old.

    Any advice will be appreciated,
    tai

I would definitely call Lenovo and get the laptop sent in for service. Sounds to me like your bios is fried.

Have you tried removing all the memory from the computer and seeing if you get any beep codes on startup? That can narrow down the cause of this.

Have you pulled your data off yet? It isn't a hard drive issue, but I wouldn't want Lenovo to wipe anything off if you send it in.

I have tried to remove two memory chips and also tried to switch them and also tried to to power on without any memory at all but I still can't get any error message or beep sound. Because my laptop is so new, the data is expendable, for my luck.
I think that this is sure now that my bios is totally fried but what could have caused it? Could fluctuating input voltage be the cause or maybe the moisture is the problem...?

Hmm, few hours ago I called to IBM service but I was told that Lenovo notebook service is open at workdays only. The thing I fear most is that the motherboard is totally dead (I suspect moisture or wrong input voltage) and the warranty won't cover it.
All tough I have heard very good feedback about IBM customer service, I still own the Lenovo....

dont fear at all.they well certainly replace it.wrong voltage damage the adapter not the laptop itself.
