I just had a tech come replace my structure frame on my T61 SXGA+
It was wonderful experience below is the order of events that went on:

1.) Get call from tech at 9am to schedule when to come over
2.) Tech arrived at 11:30am as promised was sincere and eager to get started on the repair
3.) Explained/ showed the process of removing the screws, palmrest, keyboard inorder to get to the structure frame. Pointed out what each internal part was.
4.) Joked about some of the stupid things he's seen ppl do to their thinkpads/ dealing with difficult customers.
5.) Replaced structure frame/ reassembled everything

    Total time for service 45min

Left me his # and tech ID for future needs

Now everything is good again. The extra price for onsite was worth it. Quick quality service and plus it I got to learn about the internals of my thinkpad.

my on-site experience has been wonderful too :)

I'm beginning to be a believer in the on-site warranty. They haven't done me wrong. :) and their stories are always hilarious. One lady "misplaced" her ram and didn't know why her computer wasn't turning on.

Keep the guy's number if I recall the techs are all contracted out, and they vary in skill. If you liked him. You can manipulate it so you can get him I believe.
