    Hi all,

I recently ordered a t60 through lenovo with 3 year onsite warranty. I never had an IBM before. Is onsite warranty an overkill? Should I downgrade to depot?

    thanks,
    chris

I would choose the depot because I dont trust contracted techs. ive head dtories of them almost destroying a system and then ibm not wanting to fix the problem because the person was contracted.

id rather the people that work at IBM fix the problem.

Depot repair is pretty good. I guess it will depend on if you can afford to wait while it is sent in to be repaired.

My experience with the onsite tech was exceptional, he showed up on-time, swapped the new hard-drive in and left. The only glitch was that his office had gotten my address wrong and he had to phone from a gas station when he got lost. I would definitely prefer on-site over depot, since although you may get a bad tech, who knows what the shipping company will do to your notebook...
