Hi, I have an IBM ThinkPad T30 2366 and it will not boot.
It says:
Intel (R) Boot Agent Version 4.1.07
Copyright (C) 1997-2002, Intel Corporation
Intel Base-Code, PXE-2.1 (build 083)
Copyright (C) 1997-2002, Intel Corporation
PXE-E61: Media test failure, check cable
PXE-M0F: Exiting Intel Boot Agent.
Operating System not found
I have tried to install an OS by inserting a bootable cd but it doesn't seem to be working. I do this by going into List of Temporary Bootable Devices-> CD-ROM drive.
I would really, really appreciate your help.
Thanks in advance!

Most likely your hard drive has broken. That's the common error if the HD either isn't found, or there's no OS installed.

So what do I do?

Do you have any recovery media for your Thinkpad. Most cheap option is to ask somebody to burn for you a copy of the recovery media. There are helpful people at thinkpads.com forum.
Although you could download the XP install CD since your machine have a valid COA in the back of your machine. -
Does the recovery media have to be specific to the ThinkPad T30? Is there any way to get it online?
Where do I download the XP install CD?
Thanks very much,
Anna -
You can buy a set from Lenovo. They're $45 if they're still selling T30 sets. You might want to post over on ThinkPads.com you're looking for a set. Someone may have one cheaper. A set from another machine may work. If it does work, you'll probably have driver issues.

You have an OS disk, so I would say the easiest way to do it is just to get a new HDD and install the new OS on it. If you have important data on your old HDD you may be able to recover it by taking it out and putting it in an external enclosure and attempting to retrieve the files in Windows.
