What is the real difference between XP Home and XP Pro. I am going to be using my computer for home and at the office(just a small business). I am trying to decide if it makes sense to pay the extra $79 to get the XP Pro.
    Thanks

The biggest difference is the networking. XP Pro has more tools for the sysadmin to do their job in a large corporate environment. Most small businesses and home users can use XP Home just fine without any problems. Some the extras are remote desktop (helpdesk trblshooting), deployment ease of use such as unattended setups on multiple machines and group policies. Hope this helps...

Just to add on, XP Pro also has encryption, and it can join a domain. Home is only limited to a workgroup, I believe.

    Diff between Home and Pro.
Here a site that give an overview and difference between the Pro and Home.

I mainly use Pro for the Networking features.

Unless you're in a business environment and joining a domain then there's no real reason for you as a home user to upgrade from XP Home if it costs an extra $79.
