It seems there are two separate settings for NVIDIA Optimus in the BIOS:

    1. "Graphics Device" - this allows you to choose one of three options, "integrated", "discreet", or "nvidia optimus"

    2. "OS Detection for NVIDIA Optimus" - this allows you to "enable" or "disable"

I don't understand the difference between these settings. What does the 2nd one do? If the first setting it on "Optimus", then shouldn't that mean that the OS will switch? What if the first setting is set to "Optimus" and the 2nd is set to "Disabled" ?

Basically I'm confused as to what the differences of these two settings are. Any advice is appreciated

    I have a w530
