So I placed the order 2 days ago for T410s..called yesterday to check status and they told me order has been cancelled due to credit card. Gave me the number for their credit card deptt. Called credit card deptt and he verified my card number, address everything looked ok and he will reinstate the order.

When I called websales line again to check whether the previous order has been reinstated, I was told I have to rebook the order again because previous order has been cancelled and nothing they can do.

So went again yesterday and placed new order online again. Checked status of order this morning same thing, same BS answer.

There is no issue with my credit card. I can see auth. place on my card.

with lenovo and sales people have no information.

Called Lenovo credit deptt again and guy told me the order was cancelled due to their mistake. He told me someone will call me to reinstate my order.

Just got a called back from their sales group and they placed a new order for me (exact order with discount etc.). Looks like something wrong with their systems.

something is wrong with their systems. Same thing happened to me but all my information was correct. He put me on the line while calling the agency to check my credit card with what I typed in the purchase boxes and the agency said "all that information matches. nothing's wrong"

The automated verification system at lenovo must be falsely claiming our cards are suspicious. When I called lenovo, the man (indian accent so maybe not even north america) was giving me all kinds of attitude and being SO rude. "YOU call your bank to do it. YOU are the one who is having a problem with the credit card, not ME." I pay more than a thousand dollars to be scolded by some random person - he finally calls the credit card agency himself and everything checks out. I said, "so are you satisified with the information. Is everything fine?" And he just goes "VERY satisified. Goodbye" and hangs up on me.

I hate call centers being placed elsewhere. The communication is just so difficult - sometimes talking to an australian or brit has a strange cultural gap even though we all speak english. Not to mention his thick accent was horrific. The things I do for thinkpads.

I don't know that being from India, if that was the case, make you rude. If you're a jerk, you're a jerk, regardless of your nationality. I myself have had good support from overseas reps and having reps here doesn't necessarily ensure a positive outcome in my experience. Just call back, you'll probably get a better rep next time.

while culture plays an important part in how some people handle certain situations, getting a bad customer rep is something that could happen in any culture. However, a lot of time, the customer rep would behave in a certain manner due to the constant barrage of rude customers.

    Hi abhiku, brutalturtle

my orders also got cancelled because of credit card information mismatch. But I feel the info was correct. I called the credit card deparment of lenovo (800-426-3325) The person who spoke could not give me any info beyond the reason for cancellation. He could not tell even what was the mistmatch. Now I need to reinstate the order as the model I had ordered is no longer on offer in the website (it was a T510 web special productivity offer). How did you go about reinstating the order ? Please help me as I would really like to have that model.

Thanks a lot for your help.

I didn't do anything special. When I called credit card deptt. today (yes, you have the correct number) I told him that I talked to him yesterday about the same issue (actually it was the same guy, I recognized the guy from his accent). I told him yesterday you verified my cc number, my address and everything was fine and sales team asked me to go online and place new order by using same credit card because previous order, when it's cancelled nothing can be done.

He said it shouldn't have happened this time. He told me he is going to talk to someone as he doesn't have any idea and I will get call back from Lenovo. He took my number and ask me to wait.

After 15 min. or so, I got callback from someone in sales group. He said he is very sorry what happened, it was their system that is having issue. He told me he is going to place order for me with the same exact configuration, discount, price etc. since nothing can be done for cancelled order.

So I was on the phone, he place the order, manually override the price for what my previous order was for? He gave me order number while I was on the phone and ask me to verify the config. Everything looks great and I told him Thank you for your help!!

I will suggest you call the sales group again and request to speak to supervisor or someone senior. Ask them to place the order for you with the same config.

btw I didn't get any rude rep when I called sales line 2-3 times yesterday and today. They don't have much information in their system why the order is cancelled so they forward us to credit card deptt.
