I ordered a T420 nine days ago, and put in a cancellation order the next day after seeing another deal for the same machine. Today, I logged in to make sure that the order was purged. It wasn't, and was still listed as "in process."
Should I give Lenovo another call? Or are Lenovo's systems slow to update?

Give them another call. Cancellations don't always go through. If the order was already sent to the factory the day after you placed the order, they may have not been able to cancel it. You'll end up receiving the machine, and they'll send you a label to return it without a restocking fee. It's a hassle, but that happens sometimes.

Well, I have enough money in my bank account for only one machine. And naturally, I want the machine that I placed an order for two days after the cancellation.
Lenovo really needs to revamp their ordering system. -
It happened to me. Ordered the second machine two days after the first (canceled first right before ordering second). Both arrived the same day. Sent one back and had to wait a week for the refund. Yea their supply chain isn't the greatest.

How long did your machines take to arrive?
I don't want to be hit by overdraft fees from my bank. Ah, crap. -
I ordered as soon as it was released and it took a while for the very first ones to ship. According to the shipping thread, people's X220's are shipping in as little as 3 days after placing the order. Your order obviously still hasn't shipped so it's tough to say. Call them (sales, not customer service), and they can check the status of the cancellation and order.

I'm curious, was the new deal from Lenovo? If so, you can always make a quote and get it price-matched later. That way you wouldn't have to cancel the first order. Good luck and I hope it works out. -
I cancelled last week, then had to call back 4 days later where they cancelled it again. I think the original agent didn't want to cancel the order (he insisted on going through the whole "let me help you not cancel your order" script). I was pretty annoyed, got some BS from the 2nd agent, then got a cancellation email 30 seconds later. Not a pleasant experience.

I'll give them another call tomorrow, otherwise, I may need to deposit my next check from work directly into this bank account so that I have enough margin to avoid the overdraft fee (and end up getting two laptops in the process!) -
Just managed to cancel the order. This time, I received e-mail confirmation about it.
Only thing to do now is to wait for the other T420 to arrive.
Order still not cancelled?
