I ordered a Thinkpad SL500 on August 8th and my ship date was suppose to be August 22nd but I check today and now it says OCTOBER 3rd!!! Thats a 2 month wait and I didn't even order the 9-cell battery, that is just outrageous. 1 month didn't bother me since my college doesn't start until the beginning of October but now I am getting pretty annoyed.

I was looking forward to getting my first notebook and having it be a Thinkpad but now it looks like I'm going to have to start shopping again, 2 months is just flat out too long. Lenovo has to be seriously losing money from all these delays and people canceling in one of the top selling periods for notebooks/laptops

There seams to be some that are going smoothly and others that just keep getting pushed back. I got mine with a big discount, if I could get it for the same price I would try to order another one and see if that one goes through.

They must be. Customizable items have a (reasonable) 1-2 week waiting time.

At any rate, you may want to continue this discussion in the dedicated thread.

I customized a T500 through Visaperks and they said it's shipped from China after 1-2 days. That being said he said it takes 5 days to get from China to Canada and another 4-5 to clear customs and get delivered.

Huh? Mine took 24 hours from Shanghai to Anchorage and another 2 days to my "doorstep" in Iowa, U.S. All of this with standard UPS Ground shipping.

Perhaps it's the Visaperks thing that slows it down?
