    Ordered a T61 -- Will it *really* take until end of August to ship?

    Hi,
    I just ordered my T61 last night. Ship date 8/22/2007. Will it *really* be that long (or longer) until I get my laptop? That's crazy, if so.

    Well, I did noticed today that it changed to 6/19/2007. I guess that it was just a bug. Headache indeed

    Same date here as well....8/29. but whatever, they will ship when they ship, but I don't believe it will be as late as 8/30 as this calculation must have come from their ERP software calculation. They should use Dynamics product as it would at least be fixed by now.

    looks like a lot of T61 orders will move up in the queue if the post is true about all Meyer orders being cancelled.

    My order hasn't been canceled yet. I wonder how long it is going to taker them to cancel all the orders. My assumption would be they would just wipe them out. When I canceled my original order, it took less than an hour for the order status link to stop working and for them to take it out of the database. My Meyers order is still showing a ship date of 6/11. Do you think they will just wait until the ship date and cancel it then? Weird.

    Well, some of those Meyer's orders probably already entered into some stage of production by now. Once the orders reach the factory, it will take at least half a week for the sales office here to communicate to the factory in China that those orders need to be canceled, and then for the factory to report back to the sales office here that those orders are indeed canceled.

    I'm kind of skeptic of what this guy said about the orders being cancelled. There's a lot of contradicting information going around. I'll just wait and see what happens.

    more and more posts here point to the possibility that Lenovo has NO idea who placed EPP orders with the Meyer account. Only when one identifies themself as a "Meyers" friend, do the sales reps cancel orders. If you want to run the risk with the order, then just stay quiet. Its not 100% that there will be no problems, but so far that seems to be working.

    edit: now that Andrew has confirmed that his order might be cancelled...i guess Lenovo does know how to link EPP orders to employee serial #s.

    I literally just got off the phone with a Lenovo rep asking about the 15.4 T61 and if it would have the same issues. He basically said

    "We know of the issue that some customers on the internet are reporting shipping dates of August. This is not true. If you have already ordered your machine or order it in the next few days we will have it to you by the end of June."

    So there you go.
