    Hi all,

The estimated ship date showing on my order is 06/12. How good are Lenovo at meeting (or beating, dare I dream) these "estimated ship dates"?

Also, anyone have any experience with the CCFL screens? I've seen some posts saying that they were fine, so that's why I went ahead with that option, as I wanted 1440x900 more than LED backlighting. I understand that I'll just be losing some max brightness level and battery life (as compared to LED)? If I can get at least 4 hours of battery life with wifi on and the screen at the higher brightness levels, I'd be satisfied (got the 6-cell battery).

My main purpose for getting the T400 was a matte screen. Currently using a glossy screen laptop, and its driving me bonkers. I've been trying to find comparison pics between the T400's LED and CCFL screens, but I haven't found any thusfar.

Thanks in advance for any replies!

I am pefectly happy with my CCFL WXGA+. Mine shipped with the chi mei screen and for what its worth its not the best ever screen but for business/work use its perfectly fine. Its a TN panel so wont be as good as the IPS screens but overall its not a bad screen.

Miner, what size battery do you have and what kind of battery life do you get with your T400?

I have the 9 cell and TBH I havent done a complete battery life test yet. for my use its more than enough but I usually run on Energy saver profile and with the X4500 instead of the ATi GPU and the best I can tell you right now is that it definitely lasts more than 6.5 hours in this mode.

Doing normal office and internet browsing without having machine going into standy, I have gotten 9 hours battery life on my T400 with 9 cell battery.

Wifi on, bt off, wwan off, LCD at 3/4brightness and I must add the battery wasnt drained completely. When I think of it I actually dont need the extra life offered by the 9 cell and could have lived with the 6 cell but mine was a pre configured unit...so didnt really have a choice. But, yeah the 9 cell should easily get close to 9 hrs. Plus, I dont expect the P series to make a huge difference, the actual power consumption would most likely be closer than what the TDP suggests.

Fair enough. I don't use wifi that much unless I'm in my recliner and I'm thinking of wiring that area anyways. And I do agree that I really don't need 9 hours all the time, but the option will be sweet. Not to mention I plan on using it primarily on battery at work so I can brag about not being tethered.

Hi, I saw your thread. Mine does not have the extra Radeon graphics, only the integrated Intel 4500.

Speaking of vPro, I got rid of that and saved $10... I tried to find out what its for, and the most I could glean was it is used for remote access?

Anyone know if vPro has any purpose for a single end-user?

You should be fine. The only thing probably useful for a single user is the TPM chip which again is only useful if you are looking to do drive encryption. vPro is definitely more useful in a corporate environment than for a single user.
