Strange, I purchased this on the Student and Alumni page and when I checked out, I didn't have to verify my student status or anything. Is that how it is? Also, when I downgraded to XP Pro, it said it was for the educational sector who expects to order 25 PCs annually or something. What's that supposed to mean? I plan to upgrade RAM once I find a good deal.
Thoughts? Was it a good deal?

I just ordered a very similar T61 this morning as well. I bought some GSkill 4GB (2x2GB) for $70 free shipping from Newegg too. Search fatwallet for lenovo cpp for a better deal. When I ordered from cpp they didn't have to verify anything either.
Ordered my new ThinkPad T61!
