This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

    Ordering a T61 W/O HDD, RAM & OS

    Do you guy think it is possible? I talked to a sales from lenovo and he's confused (guess no one really doing it)

    I 've a HDD that is not used, 4 GB of RAM and i am going to take out vista right away..so i don't really need those part

    You can order with Linux and save some money for not buying Windows, but as for buying without HDD or memory, I doubt you'll succeed. You can perhaps at least go with minimal RAM and choose a HDD that you can take out and put in a USB enclosure or Ultrabay HDD adapter to use for backups or something.
