Has anyone purchased the WWAN option? I was wondering if it had an external nub-shaped or telescoping antenna like the X61. (hoping it doesn't.)
I can always get Turbo Memory and get an ExpressCard for the WWAN, but does the Turbo Memory provide any noticeable performance improvement?
Thx.

The jury is out on turbo memory, but the real question is, do you want to spend loads of money on wwan?

WWAN is about 60 dollars monthly, isn't it? Probably all kinds of hidden fees as well.

As to the original question, it comes down to this. If you want the internal antennas for WWAN then you have to get the internal WWAN and give up the turbo memory. The turbo memory might be nice, I can't say it's huge. I got my latptop with turbo memory instead of WWAN by Lenovo's mistake. So I am still using my express card (Novatel V640) for WWAN.
Actually I have decided that since EVDO Rev A is now available I am happy that I can upgrade the WWAN by switching to the Novatel V740. I don't think you can upgrade the internal WWAN unless they can flash the firmware. It's normally "not user upgradable". -

There is not a good alternative network in the places where I use the WWAN. -

you cannot use your phone while tethering, this means no phone calls....Its like the old days of using your phone line and not being able to get calls.
