My dilemma is this with my T61 order.

I got a great deal by using the EPP and 25% offer and got the following:

    2gh T7300, nVidia, WXGA +, 1dimm 1ghz, 80gb, turbo memory, dvd-rw, bluetooth, 7-cell.

    Merchandise Total $1,124.53
    Plus tax.

    1. I am not sure how much warranty comes with the EPP discount units. I have read in another forum that it may only be 6 months. Can someone verify?

    2. Can I purchase additional warranty on this for $69 extra as listed under options after I receive my order? I want 2 year depot warranty. added on to this. With Apple computers, I was able to add the protection within a year........is there a grace period for Lenovo?

Thank you in advance for your input.

My guess would be it has at least one year of warranty. I have never been able to access EPP, not knowing anyone who works for IBM, other than SkiBunny. You can upgrade your warranty anytime your machine is still under warranty. You can look up the warranty status once you have the serial number. See the ThinkPad F.A.Q. stick at the top of the forum.

Would it cost more than what was shown on the option to renew later? I was not able to find this information after reviewing the Warranty information.

The length of the warranty for your laptop depends on the model.
It has nothing to do with how you purchased it (online, SPP, EPP, educational, etc).

You can buy an extended warranty as long as the original warranty is still in force. But the extended warranty is cheaper to buy when the laptop is new (that used to mean the first 21-30 days).
