    Hi All,

Just ordered a Lenovo ThinkPad X220 from the Lenovo Outlet. I'm sort of nervous about my purchase since the laptop has yet to arrive, but I'm anxious to use it. Can anyone share their experiences with the outlet (any X220 orders?) and let me know what to look out for and what to check out first when it arrives? Hope I got a good deal!

I paid $609.85 + tax with free shipping at least. It's a lot to spend, but I hope the machine lasts for a few years.

Had good luck with outlet. Some "refurbs" are simply laptops that were opened and returned without ever turning them on. Some were turned on, returned, and then Lenovo tests them to see that they are ok.

About the only thing I'd worry about is dead pixels. Check the screen and if there are none you're good to go

    NICE price.

I got one a month ago with some extra gear onboard and paid $1200 OTD.

Just add 16GB RAM and you are GTG.

Thanks for the replies, I feel a little bit better about the purchase, just hope it's in good shape once it arrives. There was a 10% off coupon (EMAIL10) which brought the price down.

Have ordered two X201T and one X220T. One had a minor issue.Where the Thinkvantage button had a slight raise. Pushed it down and it was like new.
Have had great lucky finding deals ($510 for a 420T) and had zero bad experiences with bad systems. Most come looking new.

The X220 finally arrived today when I came home from work! It has all the specs as advertised and the unit is BRAND NEW! There's not a mark on it and it's flawless so far. So glad I got this over waiting for the X230.

I bought three machines from Outlet so far:

W701: only half of advertized RAM, display assembly with gap on top, CPU overheated after 1 minute of full load. Lenovo replaced the RAM after some discussions.

T420: Ok, but LCD showed horizontal line after one week, panel was replaced quickly.

M90z: Ok, but HDD was 3.5" and not 2.5" as advertized.

On a more curious note: I returned a new W701 after thorough testing and saw it on sale as NEW on Outlet a month later. I knew it was my returned machine, because they listed the serial number in the detailed description. They should have sold it as refurbished, since the box was opened and I clearly used it. So I wouldn't always trust their 'new' and 'redistributed' offers.

    EDIT:
Yes, the look of all machines I purchased was also flawless in every case. I guess they exchange all scratched or damaged shell parts.
