Is this a good deal? Does it come with the LED backlight (for those of you who have experience whit the Lenovo outlet)

I bought a macbook pro, but I realized the charge time is too long, and the battery life too short for my computing needs at university.

OSX is nice and all but my true love is windows. I'm planning to ask my brother in the US to order it for me, and bring it to Canada. Is the warranty transferable to Canada?

I really doubt it; if it did it would say "w/backlight" for led backlight

and "w/CFL Backlight" or "1440x900" for ccfl

it is a good deal, just not as bright as led, but that doesn't dictate screen quality completely. There are was actually a time when lenovo stopped shipping their T400 models with the wxga+ led backlight so i don't think there will be any in the outlet for sale for a while now.

I agree, unlikely to be LED-backlit.

Print that configuration sheet prior to ordering. Looks good but there's two odd things:

-T400 notebooks don't come with the ATI Radeon 3650; only the T500 does. The T400 comes with the Radeon 3470.

-the Intel 4965AGN card sounds a little unusual, though I'd guess 1st-gen T400 models may have come with it. Current ones come with the Intel 5100 or 5300 (unless you get the standard Realtek-based b/g/n wireless).

The T400 is a great laptop. That said, I think you can come out well going through Lenovo's CPP (contractor purchase program) site, and purchase new, instead of refurb.

Only problem is getting the CPP code :( Also I'm located within Canada, which might screw me over big time pricing wise :\
