How does one find details about products listed on the Outlet site? The items listed on the Outlet come with a 'manufacturing part number' such as 2764CTRR8WY453 which is of length 14. Specifically, for example ,when they list items for a given laptop (in this case a T400), they just say 64gb ssd, no info on whether its a SLC/MLC.

Finding serial number mentions that the entire 14 digit number must be entered for lenovo 3000 laptops. I assume its the same for thinkpads?

However, entering the 14 digit number in Identify your product gives me an error. Any one know how to find out complete specifications? I am being cautious as advised in Tips on buying from outlet.

    It's the first 7 digits/letters: 2764CTR

    2764: model of T400
    CT: CTO / configured-to-order
    R: refurbished

For these CTO systems, the second group of 7 digits/letters (R8WY453) is the serial number of the particular notebook.
