Am I missing something about the Outlet pricing. How are X230's at $600 and X220's at $1300?!

Sometimes it's better to accept your good fortune and not question it.

A couple of years ago there was a R52 over there for something like $3K...where the street price for the same machine was $300.

The best piece of advice I can give anyone would be:

    1) To decide *exactly* (or as close as possible) what they want AND

    2) To wait for it to pop up while checking the Outlet many times a day and decide "on the spot" whether it's a good deal for them at the time.

    My $0.02 only...

Frankly I have no interest in the X230/T430 series which makes up most of the Outlet volume now. I might be interested in picking up another X220, but not for that price. I've gotten some fantastic deals in the Outlet, eg. X1 Carbon for $700, fully loaded T430 with 180gb ssd for $590. It's a shame the X220/T420 machines are almost completely out of the supply now.

Well, if you really want another one, they should be pretty near the point where the liquidation for the major companies start, and if you know who (not) to buy from, feebay is the obvious solution.

I want a new one, next to impossible at this point. The few new ones available now tend to be i7 machines as well, but I'd like to stick to another i5. It's just a waiting game now.

not really worth it, at this point if someone has an x220, it will either be used, and if not, it will be ridiculously overpriced.
