I searched but didn't find that thread..
    Thanks!

I think I'll probably get an xbox 360 and stream from PC and TV, plus I'll be able to play some FIFA! :)

Do you think I should wait until after x-mas if I want a console ? I know this isn't console forum, but maybe some of you know how the prices behave for those things?

I have the advanced dock and go from the DVI on it to my big screen. It also has an SPDIF out so I can output dolby digital to my receiver. It's great, just drop the laptop into the dock and I'm watching movies off the laptop. Ripped movies converted to high resolution mp4 h.264 actually look better then straight out of my DVD player.

There are a couple of device that will output video via firewire or even usb. A friend of mine had the Canopus ADVC-110 but it was like $250.

You might be able to find a USB capture device that also does playback.

    Good luck
