I recently ordered a T60 from lenovo.com directly with the free SXGA+ screen upgrade(remember that one on 6/27?). I remember it clearly that the price was 1289.74$ including tax. However, this coupon is not shown from the online order status page! Price is 250$ more than I had expected! I called them and was told that unless I can show them some supporting documents the price can't be changed!
Unfortunately all the emails from lenovo.com don't carry any coupon record. I am not good buying computers online(this is my first time) and maybe I should have made a screenshot(but why should I do this since their ordering system has been used for years!). Currently I don't have any evidence about the coupon I've applied! What should I do now??
Thanks!!!

I think some others had a problem with this coupon and not being shown the discount in confirmation email.
Edit: Looked, but can't find the thread. -
Thanks for the reply! So I guess I am not the only with this problem! Do any others have a solution?
-
The other fellow with the problem was Leon2245. I'm not sure if or how it was resolved. Here is the thread:

Lenovo's accounting department must be on crack, I returned one of my X61T's per their instructions (RMA on box etc) and I have yet to receive a refund it was delivered over two weeks ago and I cannot get a response from anyone at Lenovo

lol I think you've read my thread "yandong", but anyways...
RUN!
Cancel (if you can). Exact same thing happened to me, and they haven't fixed it. And I DO have all kinds of proof. I was given an option of having it ship anyways, then "price matching" afterwards; or stopping the order, then them rebooking it at the correct price. I chose the safe route- stopping it until they got the price right. Have documentation of it too.
They shipped it anyways, and have yet to credit the difference. Now I have to get american express involved and dispute this (assuming they don't just let me ship it back to them without 15% penalty). -
Congrats! (though not seeing the relevance to this thread) -
Same thing happened to me. I canceled the order.

I had a similar experience but for a different deal. They overcharged me $110 and could not fix it even I had the proof of original sale price. Then, I recieved my T61, and contacted them again, no luck. Then, Ffled BBB.com complaint, a manager then contacted me and fixed my problem easily.
The key tips dealing with these issues is that you need reach a right CSR who is either smart enough or powerful enough to change things. -
So what should I do now? Continue arguing with them about the coupon which, in 99% would be useless, or ship it back and expect a refund?
Lenovo has already delivered it and it's scheduled to reach me today! Is it correct that I am even not allowed to open it if I want to get it returned?!
Leon, are you going to ship it back? -
Yes, do not open it, or they will hit you with 15% for sure. Get in touch with a CSR and if they are not going to charge you the correct price, that you need a return authorization. Customer service reps, all of them, are actually all very nice there. I think they are just bound by a real messed up system. I don't fault them for that, but it is MESSED up. Good luck.
cpterm, what was your proof they denied? I had a screenshot of my order confirmation showing correct price, an independent quote of identical specs with correct price, and fatwallet cashback statement reflecting correct price- and that last one was actually a record of the transaction amount sent to FW... from Lenovo!
Finally, this morning, I have been informed that the "price match" has been approved. Apparently all they needed was the independent quote. Bad news is, if you can't currently configure it identically for whatever reason (coupon expired, sale over, etc)- they won't match it.
I am just shocked this can actually happen, be charged different than the price showing when you click "OK" with your credit card info submitted. Then insult to injury, have to request approval for the privilige of being charged the correct amount.
I think I'm good now, but am not relaxing (or opening that box) until I see the credit back on the card. -

Lenovo is running a scam. I cancelled my order they still shipped it, I still have not recieved a refund. I called them up today and they said that they refunded my card, called up my card company no refund has been posted. Now when I try to call my CSR the operator says that she is not taking calls, and her manager is not even picking up the phone, it goes straight to voicemail. WTF I can't believe I am getting scammed by Lenovo, this is ridiculous.
-
Just refuse to accept the shipment, it will get sent back and you'll get your refund. Option two, call your credit card company and request a refund for the difference.
-
I did not have a screen shot, but I printed out the confirmation page. Then I took a picture of the confirmation page with my digital camera, sent it to them by email. The CSR I first talked to did not deny my request and told me he would correct it for me. But the result turned out to be nothing changed until a manager contacted me.
Yandong, my suggestion is that do not open the box first and contact the manager dealing with my case. I can PM you his telephone number and email address. If he can not fix it, you can still try to complain at BBB or just return it. -
I won't say it's a scam, but I am in your shoes too (completely separate order than the wrong price situation). I cancelled, they shipped anyways, their warehouse accepted the delivery last week, still no credit as of this morning. -

Update on this please smooth operator- have you been credited yet? You are approaching a month now.
I am getting nervous myself, as it's been ten days since my return, still no cash. What I am TOLD by customer service troubles me- the "8-10 days" means 8-10 days "AFTER THE WAREHOUSE SUBMITS THE RETURN"!!!!! As of yet, mine has not even been "submitted" by the warehouse. So once that happens, you then have up to ten days to get it back on your card.
Can you BELIEVE that?! Still not saying it's a scam per se, just their messed up process that sucks HARD for us. -
Has anyone figured out how to actually talk to your sales rep? Every time I call mine it goes straight to voicemail, and they are not very quick at responding to emails either.
Overcharged by Lenovo!
