How do I overclock my GPU? Is it bad for it?
-
there are a variety of OCing tools out there, but they don't work with all notebooks, and not with all drivers either.
however, overclocking your GPU can result in serious damage to your laptop and should be done very carefully. also, you may lose your warranty. -
Does it worth it? Additional "unexpected" heat will short your pet's life.
PS: Why do you want to do this? -
I will go with the...if you need to ask, you probably shouldn't do it. Only overclock on laptops if you really know what you're doing.

OC on my W500 doesn't work (yet). The ATI tool or other OC utilities fail to properly detect the card, but eventually I'm sure I'll get it working. Why? Two words: MORE POWER.
I used to have a 64mb ATI card in a Dell Inspiron in like 2003. I used to overclock that and it would heat up like mad but also run all the games that were out at the time + the next two years, including Battlefield, Desert Combat, Command and Conquer Generals, Zero Hour, Unreal Tournament 2003.
OC FTW.
