Hello! My Lenovo 3000 N200 is constantly overheating and rebooting. Is there a way to fix this? Maybe if I clean the dust that got in? How can I do this? Or do I have to take it to the repair service? Thanx! :)

If it's the same as my N100, it's very easy. just remove the panel beside the vents (LHS facing the screen) and pull out the wodge of dust.
That's what I do and for a few months I'm always surprised how cold it is on my knee, and think it must be broken.

You can find manuals on the Lenovo.com site. Look for Lenovo N200 in the index, not Lenovo 3000.

I think it's similar to your N100. Which panel do you mean (and what is LHS)? Do I have to unscrew it? Thank you. :)

In addition, wouldn't hurt to clean it from dust and maybe repaste the CPU if you feel confident about it.

Whatever you do, DO not repaste the cpu.

LHS = Left Hand Side. On mine the panel has 2 small screws and a small edge-slot to help get the panel off.
There is a panel at the front, away from the battery, a panel in the middle and the panel near the air vent. It's this last panel. You will need a good, small cross-ended screwdriver.

It really is an easy job. Unless you are experienced, I wouldn't try anything like reseating the processor.

I did what you wrote and it worked. Thank you! I had some difficoulties with getting all the dust out (some is still left in - any ideas how to get all of it out?), but the difference is obvious. No more overheating. Thank you, really! :)

...and I'm not touching the CPU, no way. :D

PS: I got an idea - can I use the vacuum cleaner for this? Or would it damage the vent? Thanx.
