New Laptop decision. As light and slim as is practically possible. For mostly 2D Vectorworks and 2D AutoCAD - with occasional 3D AutoCAD work.
Dockable, via some type of connection to run a dual monitor setup.
Here are my thoughts....but obviously I am posting here because I want to hear opinions of the group.
Love the weight, size, and price of the 710 14". But being limited to 8GB of RAM seems like a deal Killer... So = OUT?
After that I don't really know what differentiates the 460p and Yoga P40. Except for the obvious digitizer touchscreen aspects of the Yoga. Although I do wonder why the P40 does not include a quad-core processor option? and the 460 does? Seems strange.
What I can say - is that in general it seems like both these machines are relying on old ports, & old technology?
Which is one of the things giving me pause on either of them. I wish the Dell XPS 15 seemed like a viable option, because all the components are better. But the hundreds of posts! Describing a multitude of hardware problems and BSOD and returns after returns after returns - to finally get a non lemon unit...... I just don't have the time for that silliness.
So. Seeking opinions and other options I suppose as well.
High end of the budget is in the $1700 range.
Thanks everybody!
