    Hi,

I know it's maybe too soon for that kind of question but I just ordered a P70 with the "cheap" M600M 2GB knowing it was a MXM card type B.

I couldn't not afford the M5000M 8GB (3300$ option ... what!!??) but might later one (ebay has some cheap type b 4000/5000M)

Do you think they Lenovo still whitelist ? (like they used to be in the past)

I know I will need the 230 watt AC adapter ( I will received the 170w version).

    Thanks!

    Laurent

230W needs to be used, if not throttle can happen

do you need a quadro? the GTX 980M is a pretty good option for the P70 if it can fit

I need the Quadro for CAD/CAM (mainly Inventor/Autocad) they come with certified drivers... which the GTX don't... but in the other hand it would be great for gaming... 800$ USD on eBay (may still end as a paperweight)

No I meant, the GTX 980M is 800$ on ebay, could end in a paperweight (if lenovo whitelist MXM cards)... the card not the P70 (just swap back the card) xD

EDIT: I chose the P70 over any other brands for the stellar Lenovo rigidity (MIL-810G), I ordered the Precision 7510 first but Dell messed my order... so here I am with a P70 (also longtime fan of IBM/Lenovo) :)

I think it might work but you need to use a lenovo specific vbios to bypass any whitelist (not sure on this).

Ask Prema on Techinferno if he can help. But I think the quadro card should be PnP.

doesn't hurt to cancel the order and just jump into the P770DM/P750DM, it's a much better laptop with higher specs and has the same 99% Adobe RGB screen as the P70 (ask them to install AUO B173ZAN01.0).

I don't think it's has a military qualification, but just don't drop it and you'll be fine.
