I ordered a T61 from PC Connection and have been enjoying it for the last few days. I've actually just finished a move and have not yet had my FIOS connected, so I only have Internet access when I'm at someone's house with Wi-Fi, but I digress.
The first thing I did after getting the T61 was to wipe the hard drive and do a fresh install of Vista. After doing that, I had an "PCI Memory Controller" device in Device Manager without a driver installed. I wasn't sure what it was, but I read someplace that it was Intel Turbo Memory. Strange because the T61 I ordered wasn't supposed to have Intel Turbo Memory.
Tonight, I installed the Turbo Memory driver and found that I do indeed have the Intel Turbo Memory card in this laptop even though the model I ordered wasn't supposed to have it.
If you order the ~1,800 dollar T61 from PC Connection, it does have TM even though the specs don't show it.

Yep, mine had it as well.

I don't notice any improvement in performance, but it's nice to know that it's there in case Intel improves the drivers.
Love the T61! -
hey guys, do your models have the web camera?
-
Mine doesn't. I had a camera on my Vaio (laptop that my T61 replaced) and I never used it once in 2 years.
